Seeking a Community Engagement Specialist

Seeking a dynamic, part-time consultant to add to our team!

The Community Engagement Specialist's primary responsibility is to act as a liaison between Popken PopUps and the communities it serves, to create meaningful and lasting relationships that drive positive change.

 

This is a part-time, contract role involving mostly remote work, as well as on-site work in and around Dallas, TX.

 

The Community Engagement Specialist will be responsible for assisting in the development and execution of community engagement strategies, organizing community events, and building rapport with key stakeholders, including community members, local organizations, and business leaders.

Qualifications:

  • Must live in the Dallas area

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience

  • Experience planning and implementing community events or community outreach campaigns

  • Competency speaking Spanish 

  • Experience working in Spanish-speaking communities with an understanding of cultural implications

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Willingness to occasionally work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and experience using them for outreach is a plus

  • Knowledge of urban design, pedestrian and micro-mobility transportation is a plus

3.  A writing sample will be due by 8am Friday, January 26th

4.  In-person interviews for a select few candidates will be held the week of Jan 29th

5.  To join the team for work in February!
